So, I'm 9 days into the mantra thing and so far its working great. I'm motivated, productive (despite my lack of sleep) and generally happy.

I'll keep you posted...

Now, the second phase of this is maintaining the discipline to keep moving forward, even when you inevitably stumble - of course, those are the times you can rely on to teach you something great and help spur you on.

Your mentioning a series of "I am" statements is good. Affirmation is good. But it reminds me of the statement "I am the way, the truth, and the life!" And that's not ME.

I had a conversation with a friend when the book, "The Gift," became popular. The problem with this kind of thing is that it puts "ME" in the center of the universe. I am and you are not the center of the universe. God is and will continue to be. So, my thought is to include Him in the affirmations.

Genesis 28:15 says "I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go... I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you." He promises to be there to help you with your affirmations, your desires, your goals, as long as they are in line with His will.

1 John 2:15-17 says: "Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world--the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does--comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.

So, my affirmation is in the Lord. Psalms 37:5-6 "Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun. " He has NEVER failed to provide all that I ever hoped or imagined. Look what a great son I have! Hang in there and don't let go of your real power! Hang on to the true "I AM" and you will see the positive results in your life! Love ya! Mom
